The book is now available in hardcover, paperback and eBook on Amazon or from SST Publications at:Â https://www.sstpublications.co.uk/The-Guns-of-Santa-Sangre.php
From the publisher’s book description:  “Six-guns vs. werewolves in the Old West!  They’re hired guns. The best at what they do. They’ve left bodies in their wake across the West. But this job is different. It’ll take all their skill and courage. And very special bullets. Because their targets this time won’t be shooting back. They’ll fight back with ripping claws, tearing fangs and animal cunning. They’re werewolves. A pack of bloodthirsty wolfmen have taken over a small Mexican village, and the gunmen are the villagers’ last hope. The light of the full moon will reveal the deadliest showdown the West has ever seen—three men with six-shooters facing off against snarling, inhuman monsters.”

“THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE is an old-fashioned, well-made dime novel, doing Louis L’Amour, Elmore Leonard and Richard Matheson proud.” -Bookgasm.
“Bloody fights, desert vistas, a touch of romance, and plenty of werewolf action make THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE a fast-paced adventure. Screenwriter and author Red (DON’T STAND SO CLOSE) delivers a supernatural Western that should appeal to fans of the growing “weird West” genre.” -Library Journal.
“It’s a fun, bloodsoaked read…If werewolves and westerns are your bag, THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE will be your huckleberry.†-Fangoria.
“Imagine THE MAGIFICENT SEVEN mixed with DOG SOLDIERS and you’ve got Eric Red’s THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE. It’s full of classic horror moments, non-stop action, and characters pushed to the edge. Three outlaws are hired by a young woman to protect her village from what she claims is a pack of werewolves. Seeing it as an easy job for three gunslingers looking to make some quick coin, they begin a journey that will forever change the way they see the world. Filled with action set pieces and terrifying monsters that are ready-made for big screen adaptation, GUNS is a fun and exciting read that no horror fan should miss.†-Famous Monsters of Filmland.

“Eric Red has a lot of great film credits to his name (THE HITCHER, NEAR DARK, BLUE STEEL, BODY PARTS, BAD MOON, 100 FEET, the list goes on), and he is also an author, having written about such nightmarish topics as a serial killer truck driver (in WHITE KNUCKLE) and an aquatic alien terrorizing a submarine (IT WAITS BELOW). Red is also responsible for the extremely cool “The Men Who Walk Like Wolves” dark fantasy series, which is about werewolves rampaging through the Old West.
Short, Scary Tales Publications will soon be publishing a signed and lined trade hardcover edition and a trade paperback edition of the first two books in the Wolves series, and these can now be pre-ordered directly from the publisher.
The first book in the series is titled THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE, and these new editions of it will be published in March. The synopsis:
“They’re hired guns.
The second book in the series, THE WOLVES OF EL DIABLO, will be published just five months later, in August.
“In THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE, three 1800s gunfighters battled a ferocious pack of werewolves in Old Mexico. In the sequel, THE WOLVES OF EL DIABLO, the three outlaws rob a Federale steam train in the badlands of El Diablo transporting a fortune in silver bars. But when a savage werewoman, hungry for revenge on the men who killed her brother, leads her bloodthirsty gang of wolfmen in an attack on the train, the outlaws find themselves trapped on a highballing railroad in the middle of the desert fighting fifty werewolves.
This time it’s bigger action, more lycanthropes, more silver bullets, and much more Werewolf Western thrills!”
Only the first 150 copies of the trade hardcover editions will be signed and lined by Red, so if you want those copies you should head over to SST Publications and get your pre-order in now.

“The wild west is about to get a whole lot wilder. Fans of THE HITCHER screenwriter/BAD MOON director/all-around cool dude Eric Red may be familiar with his 2013 werewolf Western novel THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE Well that deranged masterpiece is getting a sequel this fall: THE WOLVES OF EL DIABLO.
As if that wasn’t already enough to earn the book a slot on your fall reading list, the wraparound cover art by John Gallagher has been released, and it might just be the best design I’ve ever seen. Check it out below!
In THE GUNS OF SANTA SANGRE, three 1800s gunfighters rescued a poor Mexican village from a ferocious pack of werewolves. The epic werewolf western saga continues in the sequel, THE WOLVES OF EL DIABLO, as the trio of outlaws, broke and back to their old ways, rob a Federale steam train transporting a fortune in silver bars through the desert badlands of El Diablo, but things do not go as planned. The slain leader of the dead werewolves in the village has an even more savage werewoman sister leading her bloodthirsty gang of wolf man bandits to get revenge on the gunslingers who killed her brother. The cowboys are trapped on a highballing steam train in the middle of a wasteland with fifty werewolves and a cargo of silver bars they can’t shoot through the monsters’ hearts. Climb aboard as the gunfighters hatch a desperate plan to battle the army of lycanthropes hurtling down the rails to a spectacular showdown. This time it’s bigger action, more werewolves, more guns, and much more Werewolf Western fun!
THE WOLVES OF EL DIABLO will be published by SST Publications. It was edited by Paul Fry.
Also, a third book in the trilogy, entitled THE CLAWS OF RIO MUERTA, will be published next year. Go west, young werewolf, and enjoy some deranged genre mashup fiction…â€
